Job Description Summary
Nazareth University announces the opportunity to join a collegial team of faculty who value contributions to the success of students and the department. The University and Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a full time, 10.5 month clinical assistant professor position to begin January 2026.
Clinical faculty supervise practicum experiences for Nazareth undergraduate and graduate students assigned to the on-campus Speech-Language Clinic and to community-based outreach programs operated by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders ( CSD). Clinical education is provided in accordance with ASHA standards and includes direct supervision of both therapy and diagnostic services. Responsibilities include coordination and collaboration with students, clients, and families within clinical settings, as well as participation in interprofessional teams across other Nazareth clinics and community-based sites. In addition to clinical education responsibilities, clinical faculty are assigned undergraduate or graduate teaching duties aligned with their credentials, clinical expertise, and qualifications.
Clinical faculty participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental service activities. This includes assisting with the development and implementation of academic and clinical programs that support the mission and strategic goals of the department. Clinical faculty provide service to the University and the broader professional community through engagement in committees, professional development, outreach, and advocacy.
The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with graduate specialties in autism, deafness, early intervention, bilingual, and medical speech-language pathology. Graduate students can also earn the New York State Teacher of Students with Disabilities ( TSSLD) certificate and Bilingual Education (Spanish) extension. The department has 200+ students (85 graduate students) and 11 FT faculty. Interprofessional collaboration and education are hallmarks of Nazareth University. Our on-campus clinics are located in the state-of-the-art York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, a facility that also houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and creative arts therapy clinics, in addition to our own Speech-Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic (NC3), and Audiology Clinic. Our many active on- and off-campus clinics provide opportunities for clinical supervision and clinically applied research endeavors.
