GENERAL FUNCTION

To manage receiving, inventory and shipping activities for the West territory. To execute logistics activities respecting the service level agreement at the lowest possible cost and respecting the safety and quality standards. This position ensures the timely delivery of finished goods and parts to meet customer requirements. The Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of distribution, quality assurance and inventory. Key responsibilities include leading distribution associates in the Los Angeles SC, meeting and exceeding KPI goals and objectives established. This role will require coordination with Operations, Procurement, Sales, Service and Management to understand the needs across the various functions.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate daily with purchasing, sales reps and service team to ensure timely delivery of product to customers and for installation. Approve expedited shipping requests.
• Oversee the receiving and putaway of all POs, as well as picking and packing in a timely manner.
• Schedule and monitor external freight pick-ups.
• Develops and implements Logistics SOPs and control procedures within the instruments department, to optimize warehouse productivity, inventory and shipping accuracy.
• Participate on cycle counts, and discusses variations with operations leadership and with inventory control.
• Maintains warehouse work area in a neat, clean and organized condition.
• Assures compliance of all attendance & safety.
• Provides proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers. Attends in-house or EL sponsored training meetings when necessary.
• Provide field with easy access to shipment tracking information. Update relevant parties when delays arise.
• Assists in the interviewing process and makes recommendations for hire or termination of associates. Conducts performance.
• Monitors on a weekly basis warehouse service level, transportation performance and service mix. Identifies improvement opportunities when needed.
• Support the validation and explanation of logistics KPIs and other ad hoc requests.
• Performs other duties as assigned

BASIC (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS

• Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field,
• A minimum of (3) years experience in operations & supply chain related roles, with at least 1 year experience as warehouse supervisor or warehouse manager.
• PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel very proficient) ,
• ERP experience (preferably with Microsoft GP) and basic knowledge of WMS.
• Forklift driver certified. Able to manage and lead projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Occasional Travel required, 5% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in ophthalmic instruments preferred.
