  • Salary Range - $130,000 to $170,000 based on interview and experience
  • Clearance - "Must have" an active Secret Clearance
  • Location- "Remote" - The position may be based in the US.

SUMMARY:

The Senior Software Engineer is a key position to leverage US Navy and the Department of War (DoW) in building and maintaining data pipeline and data visualization, services, and training in support of data management of a logistics application portfolio to engineer, optimize performance, and implement strategies that enables advanced analyses of analytics. The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for the sustainment of the current Application Portfolio on NMCI Developer hardware, planning and executing migration of the Data Pipeline and tools to the US Navy Jupiter and DoW's Advana data analytics platform. This position collaborates closely with data scientists, logistics experts, and users to innovate data visualization aids utilizing tools such as Tableau. Flexibility, willingness to learn, and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment is crucial.

The successful Sr. Software Engineer will bring an entrepreneurial mindset to guide integrated, intuitive, efficient, and effective solutioning exceeding client requirements and objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and manage Jupiter/Advana and Tableau using data visualization tools to build, test, and deploy and maintain solutions that enable the client's ability to manage and continuously improve their processes.



  • Develop, document, and submit use cases that identify the client's desired outcomes
  • Understand data from multiple systems and determine data relationships
  • Working in a team of systems engineers and data scientists, build, test, and maintain capabilities to provide meaningful visualizations that meet or exceed client's desired outcomes
  • Identify and execute improvements to data quality, analytical utility, and automate workflows.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client and project management staff
  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3+ years software engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical/engineering field
  • Working knowledge of various data structures and the ability to manipulate data within visualization tools
  • Proficient/advanced SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL
  • Proficient in Databricks; one or more of Python, Java, Go, R, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc
  • Experience ingesting data using ADVANA Connectors, DoD APIs, or S3/MinIO equivalents
  • Familiarity with US Navy MBPS, EXMIS, Navy ERP, OARS, NESD, and Deckplate desired
  • Security-conscious development: ensuring all data handling is appropriate IL and FedRAMP-compliant
  • Experience in designing interfaces for data-heavy dashboards
  • Experience in Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies is preferred
  • Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions
  • Experience working with Federal clients preferred
  • Experience working on collaborative cross-functional teams
