ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Support Specialist I will be part of a team of IT professionals who provide in-house Tier 1 remote IT support services for over 3,000 associates across the US and Canada. The IT Support Specialist I will have the opportunity to learn and work with a variety of equipment and issues including desktops, laptops, network connectivity, Windows software, mobile devices, network troubleshooting, and more. Specific duties will include responding to service calls and incidents and taking necessary steps to resolve issues.

Essential Functions

  • Respond to incidents and service requests within Service Level Agreements, document progress and resolution within the company ticketing and tracking system
  • Perform issue resolution for incoming help requests via phone and ticket system from end users including troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading software and hardware
  • Prioritize customer incidents and service requests based on severity and overall ability to perform job function
  • Identify and escalate incidents to proper teams; take ownership of critical incidents until ownership has been transferred
  • Assist in the identification, diagnosis, and resolution of issues
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate to 2 years of technical support experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems on a LAN/WLAN
  • One year of experience in a customer service role (preferred experience in help desk role)
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or technology-related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree

  • Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
  • Must have initiative and be able to work independently and prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong troubleshooting skills of very complex systems
  • Decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-up
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology problems and connectivity issues
  • Ability to exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations

WHAT WE OFFER

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $50,000-$60,000 / year
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
