         Position Overview
            
 Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality materials at or below budgeted production costs in order tomeet marketplace demand. Sets up blown film equipment operation feed, speed andtemperature. Follows established procedures for operating various conventional manufacturingequipment for tasks such as cutting, forming, gassing, loading, tapping, turning, inspecting, and pullingto fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials. Selects andmeasures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing. Resolvesissues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.Responsibilities are within Manufacturing/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination ofDisciplines.
 Schedule: Night Pay rate: $20.10/hrJob Responsibilities
            
 The Extrusion Technician is responsible for the safe operation of blown film extruders to produce materialthat meets current quality standards at optimum rates and yields. This responsibility includes theperformance of those tasks necessary to achieve proper extrusion operation: 
             
 Interpret and use production schedulesUnload rolls of tubingInspect raw and process materials for visual and measurable attributesResponsible for quality of productPerform minor maintenance and cleaning as requiredThread materials through the inventoryPerform quality checks on extruded materials and troubleshoot inconsistenciesContinually monitor quality throughout the extrusion operationAssure materials and equipment are available in advanceDaily interaction with computer software including data collectionCommunicate with Production Control as neededOperate specialized equipment necessary for proper function of the extruders and mezzanineClean screwsAssist in receiving railcars of by pumping raw materials into silosOperate radiation units in compliance with Cryovac, state, and federal regulationsOperate forklift to transfer boxes of raw materials as neededBale scrap material as needed throughout shiftSelf-Manage and work harmoniously in team environmentPerform other duties as requested or needed to support the team environmentPerform Product and Facility Sanitation duties as requiredServe on a Team Resource team as needed
Physical Requirements
            
 
             
 Frequent bending and lifting of items up to 40 pounds as needed (Lifting of items exceeding 40pounds will require a two person lift)Work with and around various solvents, corn starch and cleaning chemicalsAccess all work areas to include frequent climbing on stands, ladders and stairsSit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, and reach overhead as neededStand on concrete floors for 12-hour shiftsPush/pull objects as neededDrive a forklift (with training)Utilize fine manipulation skills (including but not limited to the use of a utility knife, scissors, tapemeasure, typing, writing, and hand tools)Must be able to distinguish colors for product quality purposesMust be able to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management at all levelsMust follow all safety processes and proceduresUtilize communication skills to effectively express both oral and written ideas individually or in group settingsUtilize interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groupsMust be able to work overtime as scheduledMust be able to work every other weekendAble to work nights on 12 hour shifts
 
Qualifications
            
 
             
 High school diploma or GED requiredSome work experience in any fieldWorking knowledge of computers and basic keyboarding skillsProcess manufacturing experience preferred but not mandatoryProven ability to perform basic math and measurement tasksBlown film extrusion experience preferred but not mandatory
