The Pittsburgh Paints Company has an exciting opportunity available for a Sundry Category Manager in Cranberry Township, PA! If you enjoy managing product, merchandising and building vendor relationships, then this may be the opportunity for you! As a Category Manager - Sundries, you will be responsible for managing a subset of categories for our Architectural business. These goods for resale, which are critical and complementary to the painting process and sold through hundreds of distribution points across our network. Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management - Maintain extensive performance, technical and market knowledge as the category expert of assigned categories by analyzing sales and profitability information as well as product information. Proactively make item corrections and make strategic adjustments as necessary to deliver financial goals (sales, margin, and inventory).
- Category Review & Merchandising - Drive and manage line reviews of assigned categories which include market analysis, item evaluation, new product needs, assortment planning, merchandising, pricing and cost savings opportunities.
- Collaboration - Partner with vendors and cross-functional team members (purchasing, finance, supply chain, operations, sales) to prepare and implement assortment, merchandising plans, and promotional programs to drive sales and profitability.
- Competitive Analysis - Comprehensive understanding of competitive product portfolio, new products, SWOT analysis, store merchandising and competitive communications. Including comp shops and obtaining MSRP's from vendors where available.
- Field Support - Provide support to field representatives and stores as required to achieve assigned goals and meet customer needs. Support training activities of internal and external teams to assure maximum sales productivity, including maintaining comprehensive
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of category management, merchandising, and/or related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in, business, related technical field or marketing are required. An MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- Vendor management experience and proven excellent negotiations skills.
- Must be analytical, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
