Location: Sarasota, FL (Travel Required)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Compensation Range: $195,000- $225,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

What We Are Looking For

We're hiring an experienced Director of Estimating to join our Ceres Environmental Services, Inc. team and report directly to the CEO. You will lead our estimating function across diverse sectors, including energy, power generation, heavy construction, disaster recovery, and environmental projects. In this strategic leadership role, you will shape Ceres Global' s growth by steering estimating excellence, guiding complex bids, and fostering alignment between estimating, operations, and executive leadership. Your expertise will be pivotal in expanding our capabilities and securing profitable, competitive projects.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and optimize all estimating activities across the organization, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability in complex, multi-jurisdictional bids.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align estimating strategies with growth targets, operational priorities, and financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance and competitiveness in national and international bids under FEMA, USACE, and global contracting frameworks.
  • Oversee bid governance, pricing validation, and preconstruction controls for large-scale public sector and private infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor, train, and develop the estimating team, fostering precision, accountability, and innovation through advanced tools and best practices.
  • Conduct field assessments and leverage data-driven forecasting to ensure bids reflect real-world execution conditions.
  • Analyze construction cost trends, market dynamics, and disaster recovery funding to provide strategic intelligence and risk mitigation.
  • Present pricing strategies, risk assessments, and bid recommendations directly to the CEO and executive leadership team.


Required Qualifications:



  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive estimating experience in heavy civil, energy, power generation, environmental, or infrastructure construction (federal/state experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in preparing estimates for complex multi-million or billion-dollar bids and leading cross-functional estimating teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop staff, to include conducting performance evaluations.
  • Proficient in earthworks, heavy civil, and emergency response estimating, including FEMA and federal contracting programs.
  • Advanced analytical and modeling proficiency in Excel and use of estimating software.
  • Strategic communicator with executive presence to influence stakeholders and represent Ceres at the highest level.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
  • PE license
