     Fitting Hull butts, critical inserts and penetrationsLayout, fabrication, assembly and installation of foundations, structures, bulkheads, frames, components and deck packagesDeveloping a working knowledge of structural weld joint fit-up/weld symbols, burning and grinding operationsInterpreting construction drawings/blueprintsAligning parts in relation to each other using jacks, clips and wedges through use of blueprints and templatesTack-welding structural parts as requiredUtilizing hands and power tools in the steel fabrication tradeAbility to read and interpret written policies, procedures and guidelines as work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard proceduresWork conditions may include entry in restricted/confined spaces This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.Qualifications
 
 Required: 
     High school diploma or equivalent OR a minimum of 2 years related technical experienceShipfitting, metal fabrication and/or relevant experience or trainingAvailable to work all shiftsAbility to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as requiredAbility to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and perform basic layout functionsBasic mathematical skillsIndividuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools Preferred: 
     Steel fabrication or carpentry experienceExperience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment Metal fabrication experience Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programsMilitary/Navy experienceSkills
