What you'll do:

As the Operations Manager for Royal Truck Body (Aebi Schmidt Group) based east of Nashville at our facility in Lebanon, TN, you will enjoy serving as the primary point of contact for the branch, overseeing all aspects of operations, including inside sales, outside sales, purchase order tracking, warranties, parts orders, reporting, and profit and loss management.

You'll also be accountable for driving sales, providing exceptional customer service, responding to concerns, maintaining customer relationships, handling warranty matters, and optimizing branch performance to meet and exceed organizational goals.

In addition, you will be leading the implementation of a Lean Production System and Visual Management for the entire plant with support from Corporate Lean resources.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish a Lean Management System to allow all employees to have the right tools and processes to hit the required production targets.
  • Oversee the establishment of Kanbans through Visual Management so that "every part has a plan"
  • Establish processes that allow work to occur without human intervention and questions-Visual Management.
  • Establish a highly functional work team that is self-directed and cross trained between Assembly and Upfit departments.
  • Use of Policy Deployment and Problem Solving A3's, PDCA, 5S, and other Lean Toolbox Tools to solve reoccurring problems and defects
  • Utilize the Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques to standardize current/new processes and methods, while reducing process variation, identifying waste, and methodically eliminating waste.
  • Develop standardized work/Work Instructions procedures by designing and/or documenting the best work sequence for each process.
  • Direct the work of Team Leaders and Team Members by assigning/re-assigning work stationing and analyzing production requirements based on current work situation and production schedules while working cross-functionally with the CI team to ensure work efficiency.
  • Direct floor activities through consistent application with the use of the Lean Methodologies tools to ensure all aspects of manufacturing are aligned to the business KPI goals.
  • Responsible for driving/owning all KPI related metrics for the Lebanon location. (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Teams/absenteeism.
  • Owner for ensuring the practice of "Quality at the Source" is the first priority for each job/order.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and participate in safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvement projects.
  • Lead the implementation of team members' idea, suggestions, and management directed initiatives.
  • Embrace the role of primary liaison between the branch, production teams, and corporation.
  • Oversee inside sales and orders for parts, resolve warranty matters, and track purchase orders.
  • Initiate plans and processes aimed at minimizing manufacturing costs.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field or an equivalent amount of management in Lean Manufacturing
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience in Toyota Production System or similar business system.
  • Multiple implementations of Toyota Production System or equivalent in Plants, Departments, or Areas.
