Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for inventory control, job order material usage reconciliation, job closings, and inventory reconciliation. The individual in this role will work with purchasing and production to ensure the inventory is accurate and appropriate to meet demands. This role will perform duties within the production and inventory control department as required, including training of Inventory Specialist I and II. This role will also drive M2M and Oracle system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Select, pull, kit, and issue materials to assigned jobs physically and in ERP system.
  • Perform complex ERP material transactions and historical analysis.
  • Fulfill material requests made by production or engineering staff.
  • Return materials from completed jobs physically and in ERP system.
  • Confirm all labeling and quantities for accuracy inbound and outbound of Inventory Control.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory as required.
  • Communicate any material shortages to appropriate departments as needed.
  • Responsible for tasks associated with shelf-life monitoring.
  • Assist with packing & shipping, clean room kitting and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure materials are stocked in the appropriate quantities to support production.
  • Review and process ECOs and ECNs in Oracle.
  • Run and analyze inventory reports and trends from M2M.
  • Lead monitoring of shelf life status of perishable items and call out any expiring items to Supervisor
  • Train other Inventory Specialists.
  • Lead the physical inventory preparation process.
  • Execute kitting and other stockroom priorities as set by the Materials supervisor.
  • Drive and lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and monitor manual or computerized inventory control system for raw materials, tooling, consumables, and finished stock (as needed by location).
  • Investigate discrepancies and propose solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide cross-functional support to internal clients.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements.


Must Have:



  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • 4 years' manufacturing, shipping or material handling experience in regulated industry required.
  • 4 years' experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Resource Planning (MRP) programs and tools is required.
  • Experienced with lot control and/or serial number-controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Experienced with continuous improvement business practices.
  • Strong multitasking and analytical skills.
  • Strong command of the English language (speak, read & write) with good communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Proficiency with inventory management and control disciplines outlined by Six Sigma/5S standards.
  • Proficiency using and maintaining computerized inventory record keeping systems.
  • Experienced working in regulated manufacturing environments under ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in the management of hazardous material and adherence to state and local regulations, complete and maintain training on the handling and management of hazardous material upon hire.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 15 pounds and/or move and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
