Duration: 6 months Contract to hire

Location: Irvine, CA

Payrate: $20/hr. - $35/hr. on w2 (Based on Experience)

  • Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5M (GD&T) standards, inspection equipment, and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Perform mechanical, visual, and first article inspections on machined parts, castings, forgings, gears, and assemblies.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical inspection or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, AS9100/ISO 9001, and military/aerospace specifications.


Job Description:

  • Seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to perform detailed inspections of precision-machined and electro-mechanical components used in aerospace and defense applications.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5M (GD&T) standards, inspection equipment, and aerospace quality requirements.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, visual, and first article inspections on machined parts, castings, forgings, gears, and assemblies.
  • Verify compliance to drawings, specifications, and acceptance test procedures.
  • Conduct final inspections and review vendor certifications for material and process compliance.
  • Set up and operate standard measuring instruments and CMM equipment.
  • Work from complex blueprints and inspection instructions with minimal supervision.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or coursework preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical inspection or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, AS9100/ISO 9001, and military/aerospace specifications.
  • Proficient with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM (3-axis) operation.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods and standard quality practices.
  • ASQ Mechanical Inspector certification a plus.
