Sales Intern

Program Overview

Duration: 10 weeks (mid-May to mid-August or aligned with academic semester start dates)
Hours: Minimum 375 work hours (approx. 40 hours/week, with flexibility for holidays)

Program Structure 1. Rotational Job Shadowing
  • Inside sales
  • Outside sales (minimum 40 hours)
  • Customer service/technical support
  • Commercial Excellence
2. Project Component

Each intern must lead a meaningful, sales-focused project. Includes objectives, scope, milestones, impact, budget, roles, risks, and success metrics

  • Examples of Projects:
  • Promote a new product line
  • Sales analysis: traditional distribution vs. national accounts
  • Organize bid sheets for weekly sales team updates
  • Analyze sales team expenses, profits, and territories
  • Seek and present potential accounts in sales territories
  • Promote CRM usage and monitor leads/opportunities
  • Strengthen existing accounts with new solutions
  • Develop quoting templates for sales force
  • Promote energy solutions (e.g., LED lighting audits)
  • Research underserved market sectors
  • Reduce surplus inventory through targeted promotions
  • Prepare product guides and training content
  • Develop systems to reduce transportation costs
