Overview

Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Flight Operations Department. Currently we operate a Gulfstream 280 and two Beechcraft 1900D aircraft. The selected candidate will be part of our team delivering outstanding customer service and time savings to our employees helping to meet production goals. The aircraft technician will take direction and work along with our Chief of Maintenance ensuring all aircraft remain airworthy and available for use. This position provides training, opportunities for advancement within the company, and requires some travel (~10%).

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

    Responsible for ensuring airworthiness of all company aircraft
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, service and repairing of aircraft and aircraft engines
  • Ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight, comply with company requirements and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufacturer's technical data
  • Responsible for maintenance preflight and post flight inspections and corrective actions
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance is completed following established procedures and schedules
  • Liaise with FAA, aircraft manufacturers and other industry partners
  • Participate in technical operations meetings
  • Assume an active role in troubleshooting system discrepancies and ensure that maintenance work performed is done in the most efficient and cost effective manner
  • Assist in other flight department functions as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Current mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant rating(s)
  • 5+ years of aviation experience and have been actively engaged in aircraft maintenance within the past 2 years
  • Willing to work flexible hours and occasional weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Gulfstream 280 and/or BeechCraft 1900D maintenance experience
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • FCC License and/or Avionics Electronic Technician (AET)
  • Experience with CAMP systems maintenance tracking program or similar


Skills

  • Strong communications skills
  • Effectively writes routine reports and correspondence
  • Working knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and must be familiar with CFR 14 Parts 43 and 91
  • Must have strong computer knowledge, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals and technical orders
