Step into a role as Manager, Corporate Accounting where in this role, you will support the Company's compliance with accounting guidance (US GAAP) and reporting requirements, assist with the research and implementation of accounting guidance, assist with the accounting and documentation of complex and non-recurring transactions, purchase accounting and special projects.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite at our headquarters in Newton MA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the compilation, preparation and review of the Company's consolidated financial statements and footnotes.

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to assure that various reporting deadlines are met.

  • Review and analyze operating results

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations; report, analyze, and correct variances

  • Stay current on newly issued accounting standards and SEC regulations. Support the company's compliance with U.S. GAAP by assisting with technical research, documentation of technical matters, and the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.

  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Support group in guiding and implementing controls across their group or team.

  • Could manage, train, and supervise a team consisting of one or more senior accountants and up to several staff accountants

  • Lead projects and support process improvement initiatives.

Reporting

  • Assist with the preparation, compilation and review of the Company's 10-Qs and 10-Ks, earnings releases, as well as other SEC filings and XBRL tagging as needed.

  • Prepare GAAP disclosure checklists.

  • Support the accounting and documentation of business combinations and stock-based compensation.

Accounting

  • Accounting decisions for proper balance sheet, expense classifications, and revenue recognition; other general accounting practice decisions..

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - Required

  • 5 years of relevant work experience, including financial statement preparation and technical accounting.

Additional Job Requirements

  • CPA preferred

  • Experience in public accounting preferred.

  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting principles.

  • Robust Excel capabilities and strong communication skills are required.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control frameworks.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. Must be self-starter and be detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task in the face of changing priorities, excellent organizational skills, and be able to meet requirements of deadlines and hurdles associated with a rigorous reporting schedule.

  • External dealings - professional colleagues (auditors, lawyers), operations/field personnel,

  • home office support team, etc. - will be an integral part of the job, necessitating an inherent customer service approach.

  • 2+ years previous management experience required.

Salary/Hourly Rate and Other Compensation Disclosures:

The annual starting salary for this position is between $118,000 - $133,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
