Position Overview: The Inbound Lead Role Supporting New Builds and Conversions is a strategic and operational role tasked with overseeing the successful implementation of revenue realignments and conversions within distribution centers. This role is pivotal in ensuring that customer shipments are processed accurately and efficiently during periods of change. Responsibilities include leading a team of subject matter experts, directing training programs for local material handlers, and collaborating with warehouse management to ensure seamless operations. Demonstrates I2CARE and ILEAD Principles on a daily basis. This position may involve temporary or permanent assignments. Perfect for those looking to gain intensive experience in a focused timeframe. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Oversight and Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of subject matter experts and local material handlers to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for distribution center readiness, including start-up, decommissioning, and conversion activities.
- Establish and maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders, ensuring that expectations and timelines are met.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including picking, shipping, receiving, sorting, storage of supplies, and distributing products.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of warehouse processes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with Supervisors and Project Manager to align project goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive execution of projects.
- Serve as a liaison between the warehouse team and upper management to provide updates and address any issues that arise.
Preparation Activities:
- Direct and lead activities related to capturing bin capacities, barcode capture, labeling and signage, initial process training, systems testing, and item attribute capture.
- Oversee systems and equipment setup to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with IT and systems teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during implementation.
Training and Development:
- Support the design and execution of comprehensive training programs in both classroom settings and hands-on environments.
- Focus training on key areas including, but not limited to, batch builders, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, replenishment, and inventory control.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust as necessary to ensure staff are well-prepared and knowledgeable.
Minimum Requirement:
- Requires 5+ years of leadership experience in warehouse operations or a related field.
Minimum Job Qualifications: Training:
- Proven record of successfully leading large-scale projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient in material handling processes.
- Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
- Basic knowledge in Outlook, Excel and Word
- Familiarity with JD Edwards E1 and MMS RF systems.
Travel Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- Eligible for a Corporate Travel credit card.
- Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time, including weekends for stays of 2 weeks or longer.
Working Conditions: Environment:
- Primarily warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent performance of warehouse activities.
- Use of power equipment such as forklifts and hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the course of a shift without assistance (weight varies on product).
- Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing throughout the day.
