About Corewell's Gastroenterology (GI) Clinic Our Gastroenterology (GI) Clinic is a dynamic and collaborative environment that includes a general GI team and three specialized subspecialties: Interventional Endoscopy (IE), Hepatology, and an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinic. We provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population ranging in age from 18 to 100+, managing conditions from common concerns like GERD to complex cases such as severe Crohn's disease. Our providers work closely together to develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives the highest quality of care. Nurses play a vital role in this team-based approach, offering one-touch resolution and seamless coordination across the care continuum. From colon cancer prevention to the management of advanced GI disorders, our team is committed to improving the health and well-being of the community we serve. Scope of WorkThis position is a supportive role for the systems ambulatory clinics. The tasks for this position will include, but are not limited to, completing pre and/or prior authorizations, assisting with patient assistance programs, scheduling patients from provider referrals or other registries, working with insurance companies to review coverages, communicating with patients and clinical staff, and managing parts of the medication use cycle. There will be additional opportunities to think innovatively and collaborate on projects with other departments and within our own department.
