ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Utilize MRP system to procure materials for manufacturing production consistent with quality, delivery and cost expectations.
  • Analyze changes in market conditions, prices and supplier issues.
  • Responsible for constant cost reductions through negotiation, improving supplier metrics, JIT technology and the introduction of new materials or processes following company policy.
  • Develop and maintain cost models by commodity and suppliers.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers in Engineering, Production Control, Manufacturing, and with Suppliers.
  • Manage the daily operations, i.e. issue purchase orders, expedite as necessary to meet the demands and fluctuations of customer orders, resolve discrepant invoices and packing slip issues, file and resolve items presented by both internal and external customers.
  • Manage auto-replenishment programs, identify new suppliers, solicit bids, and continually base line existing supplier base to insure competitiveness and performance against World Class standards.
  • Develop and secure supplier capability and capacity knowledge as well as manage supplier contracts.
  • Manage supplier quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Facilitate commodity teams to help improve flow of material, improve quality, as well as achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Follow and improve purchasing policies, procedures and processes.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or related field.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems, Kanban and JIT philosophy, and MRO experience is required.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
