Position Title: Welder / Fabricator - 1st Shift Wage: $20.00 - $27.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 5:00am - 3:30pm (Monday - Thursday) Step into a high-skill, high-reward role in Merrill, WI, where your craftsmanship isn't just valued - it powers innovation around the world. Welder / Fabricator Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions - Plan, layout and sequence fabrication and welding operations - Perform MIG and/or Flux-Core welding on various steel materials and thicknesses - Fabricate and assemble metal components to specifications - Set up welding equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling as needed - Inspect finished welds and parts for correct size, weld quality, and overall accuracy - Identify defects in welds and take corrective action to ensure quality standards - Use grinders, saws, torches, and other metal finishing tools - Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area - Work efficiently in a high-mix / low-repetition environment - Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals Requirements for Welder / Fabricator: - Experience in MIG or Flux welding processes - Working knowledge of blueprints - Ability to develop, layout and plan sequence of operations - Knowledge of weld defects and discontinuities What We Offer: - Overtime available on Fridays - High mix, low repetition manufacturing - Paid training for our employees - Opportunity for advancement - Friendly and family-oriented work environment - $1.00 shift premium for 2nd shift - Temporary $2.00 Premium on Fridays (after 40 working hours between Monday-Thursday) - Temporary Double Time after 50 hours worked in a work week Benefits: - Competitive Health Insurance: Copay only plan (No Deductible) - Dental, Vision, Long-term Disability, Life Insurance, and Employee Assistance Program 100% paid for by Company - 401(k) with Company Match (3.5% on 6%) and 100% vested. - Paid Time Off, 80 hours after 90 days - Tuition Reimbursement - Paid Holidays: 72 hours - Boot Reimbursement ($100.00 per year) - Safety Glasses Reimbursement ($100.00 per year) wausau@qpsemployment.com IND050 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
