FOX Sports is the home of world-class sports broadcasting, and we are preparing for our most ambitious project yet: the FIFA World Cup 2026. This unprecedented tournament will be hosted across North America, Mexico, and Canada. FOX Sports' coverage will require a massive, dynamic, and temporary workforce.

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Freelance Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in a pivotal, fixed-term role dedicated to the World Cup 2026 efforts. Reporting to the Human Resources Lead for World Cup 2026, the Freelance Human Resources Coordinator will be the operational support for all Human Resources administrative support related to our World Cup personnel. This is a fixed-term position with an anticipated end date in late 2026, coinciding with the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment and Onboarding Support (World Cup Workforce)

  • Onboarding Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for new, temporary, and freelance hires, managing the full onboarding lifecycle from offer acceptance through first day
  • Documentation & Compliance: Own the administrative process for all required new-hire paperwork, including I-9 verification, background checks, and contractual agreements, ensuring 100% compliance with all federal, state, and union regulations
  • HRIS Management: Accurately input, maintain, and audit all employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS, e.g., Workday) for the World Cup workforce
  • Communication: Partner closely with FOX Sports crewing, production, and hiring managers to ensure a seamless and accurate onboarding experience across all host cities/venues

Employee Relations & Administration

  • First-Line Support: Address and resolve day-to-day HR-related inquiries from World Cup staff regarding policies, procedures, timekeeping, and basic benefits information
  • Time & Attendance: Assist with monitoring timekeeping and attendance for payroll accuracy, tracking time-off requests, and coordinating with Payroll to resolve discrepancies
  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain and organize secure physical and digital employee files, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Offboarding: Coordinate the administrative tasks for temporary staff offboarding, including final paperwork, exit forms, and system access termination

Project & Event Support

  • Special Projects: Assist the greater HR team with ad-hoc projects, including employee engagement initiatives, training logistics, and post-event debriefs related to the World Cup operations
  • Logistical Coordination: Support the planning and execution of HR events, such as orientation sessions, training programs, and on-site check-in/credentialing processes

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 1+ years of proven administrative experience in Human Resources, in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of fundamental HR practices, policies, and employment laws
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with an HRIS system
  • Exceptional detail-orientation for managing high-volume, time-sensitive compliance documents
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with the highest degree of discretion and respond promptly to critical needs in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with employees at all levels, from crew members to senior leadership
  • Willingness to work a variable schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required by the dynamic nature of a major international sporting event

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience in media, entertainment, or sports production environment
  • Experience with union environments or large freelance/contract worker populations
  • Workday experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $23.56-29.16 per hour.
