Job Summary

US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.

Roles and Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:




  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.





  • Maintains the integrity and security of systems.





  • As required, supports users with completing requests for deployment of new services.





  • Maintains system documentation





  • Provides desk side support to users and evaluates vendor products.





  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.





  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.





  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.





  • Provides advice and training to end-users.





  • Participates in special projects as required.





  • Adheres to the principles, methods, and techniques used in system administration and support.





  • Maintains/enhances knowledge of related hardware and software.





  • May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.





  • Will occasionally be required to perform networks, DTS, information assurance and logistics duties.





  • May be required to work outside of "normal" work hours to include weekends and holidays.





  • Participates in special projects as required.





  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network incidents and problems.





  • Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.





  • Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.




Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical





  • 10+ years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis





  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in system administration and support





  • Experience with user, administrative and service account creation, and management.





  • Experience with Server STIGs, patching, Tenable, ACAS, SCCM, and IAVA vulnerabilities.





  • Experience with Group Policy, and Windows PowerShell.





  • Experience with Multiple OS' and Scripting Languages





  • Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of related hardware and software





  • Must meet 8570.1 IAT Level 2 certification requirements





  • May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment





  • Windows 10 Certification within 90 days.





  • Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignments.





  • Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)





  • Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features





  • Provides Tier II support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems





  • Must have a valid passport for international travel.




Desired Qualifications:




  • Experience with the principles, methods, and techniques used in Microsoft Server 2016 administration, troubleshooting and support.





  • Experience with Server STIGs, patching, testing, security controls, Tenable, ACAS, SCCM/WSUS, and IAVA vulnerabilities.





  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows PowerShell.





  • Experience with Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, and Chat technologies.





  • Experience with VMWare vCenter, VMware Horizon VDI, and other virtualization technologies.





  • Experience managing, monitoring, and responding to key server infrastructure alerts.





  • Completed CCNP Routing and Switching or CCNP Enterprise





  • Completed JNCIP-ENT

Salary at Castalia Systems is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $148,750.00 to $166,250.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Castalia Systems' total compensation package for employees.
