The salary range for this position is $89,900-$116,700. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. We seek candidates with a primary research specialization in European classical music before 1750, and one or more secondary research areas that will complement and extend those of our current faculty. The ideal candidate will be expected to develop impactful research through presentations at conferences and a strong publication record, and to advance teaching excellence, helping the department serve undergraduate students with a broad range of interests and career paths through teaching both specialized seminars for music majors and large GE courses. They will also be expected to contribute to the intellectual and artistic life of the university through active participation in interdisciplinary initiatives, and to engage in diverse forms of department and school service. While the position is in musicology, candidates holding a degree in music theory whose work is robustly historical will also be considered.
