Role description

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in GitLab CI/CD and Jenkins to lead a migration initiative from Jenkins to GitLab. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Jenkins (Groovy scripting) and GitLab YAML pipelines, with the ability to translate complex Jenkins workflows into GitLab CI/CD processes. This role focuses on automation, CI/CD optimization, and ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to GitLab.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the migration of CI/CD pipelines from Jenkins to GitLab, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing development activities.



  • Analyze and convert Jenkins Groovy scripts into GitLab YAML pipelines, leveraging Python for automation where needed.



  • Configure, optimize, and maintain GitLab runners, repository structures, and CI/CD configurations.



  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless adoption of GitLab pipelines.



  • Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD issues, including build failures, inefficiencies, and integration challenges.



  • Implement GitLab security and compliance best practices (code scanning, access management, compliance policies).



  • Monitor and improve pipeline performance, build speed, and deployment efficiency.



  • Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.




Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • 5-6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and automation engineering.



  • Strong expertise in Jenkins (including Groovy scripting) and GitLab CI/CD.



  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.



  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation.



  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.



  • Exposure to AWS or Azure environments.



  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and team collaboration skills.



  • Preferred Certifications: GitLab Certified Associate/Professional, AWS/Azure, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD).
