Admission Coordinator

Hermitage Hall (a UHS company) is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand-alone psychiatric residential treatment Hospitals. Licensed by Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a mental health residential treatment center for children and youth, Hermitage Hall has provided services to families for over 30 years. Located southwest of downtown Nashville, off I-65 at the Wedgewood exit, away from the congestion of downtown Nashville, our team of over 130 high quality employees describe working here as family oriented, therapeutic, value clarifying.

The Admission Coordinator supports the purpose and procedure of the entire admission, treatment and review process. Communicates effectively with referral sources and guardians to answer inquiry calls, provide program descriptions, and educate on the referral process. Reviewed collateral information to determine if referrals meet program criteria. Completes precertification to insurance providers when necessary. Works will all parties to coordinates admissions into the facility. Completes all admission paperwork with clients and guardians, communicates effectively with other departments to ensure a smooth handoff and transition for clients. Coordinates and communicates with internal agencies regarding the status of a referral, dispositions on a referral, and upcoming admission projections.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accurate information of daily census and potential admission information.
  • Monitor and evaluates intake/admission information and evaluates insurance verification information.
  • Completes admission assessment in a timely manner and makes appropriate referrals for clients that are not clinically appropriate for admission to Hermitage Hall.
  • Communicates pertinent information to administrator and managers/directors in timely manner prior to admission.
  • Obtains and disseminates additional clinical information related to potential patient to appropriate staff for discussion of concerns and admission approval.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the area of Counseling, Psychology, or Social Services related field or Nursing BSN or RN. Masters level preferred.
  • Appropriate on-the-job training and experience to meet the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Must have one year experience working in a clinical setting providing direct patient care and/or previous admission experience.
  • Must have the ability to complete clinical assessments.
  • Must have strong experience meeting deadlines and meeting monthly admissions requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to complete a mandatory, two-week new hire orientation (M-F).
