Overview

VTG has an opportunity for a Lead Transition Engineer to guide, and provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory services for a government customer in Chantilly, VA.


What will you do?

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist the government oversee, guide, and manage technical efforts for transition activities delivering vital mission operations capabilities. Efforts provide enterprise-wide, high-impact systems engineering and project management services.
  • Anticipate, assign, drive projects and customer requirements to closure; continually assess tasks, realign/reprioritize/augment assignments as appropriate.
  • Work with government managers to plan, organize, execute, and track efforts; maintain awareness of government's evolving needs and proactively provide analysis, insights, recommendations to improve delivery of services and/or exploit opportunity to enhance process, resource effectiveness, or efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to government contacts; identify and communicate status, risks, issues, opportunities, assumptions, mitigations, and dependencies for transition activities.
  • Promote and facilitate collaboration with government, SETA team members, and other contractors; across the enterprise, to ensure success of transition activities.
  • Develop assessments and staffing products for a variety of audiences, convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership.

Do you have what it takes?

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's Degree in STEM or relevant field and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Demonstrated success performing project management and systems engineering tasks, delivering mission capabilities
  • Knowledge of SIGINT space and ground architecture including mission control and/or mission processing functions
  • Program lifecycle experience from concept development and design to deployment, operations and maintenance, decommission; familiar with related control gates and associated documentation
  • Experience with CONOPS and requirements development, systems analysis, interface control documentation, technical specification review, integration and testing; validation and verification
  • Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics
  • Impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment, polished communicator (written/verbal)
  • Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project

Desired:

  • Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, tasking process, and ground station characteristics
  • Knowledge of SIGINT TCPED process
  • Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies
