Summary
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Lab Control Department, ensuring the timely and accurate collection, processing, and distribution of laboratory specimens. Maintains compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and quality standards while supervising a team of phlebotomists and lab staff.

Essential Functions
Supervise and manage the performance of phlebotomists and lab control staff, providing training, guidance, and support as needed.
Monitor specimen collection, processing, and distribution workflows to ensure timely and accurate results.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate specimen collection and delivery, resolving issues as they arise.
Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate supplies and properly maintained equipment.
Implement and monitor quality control procedures to uphold high standards of laboratory accuracy and safety.
Prepare performance reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall lab efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure staff adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols.

Education
Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Science required or Bachelor's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology preferred

ASCP Certification REQUIRED

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on specimen collection and processing 3-5 years required

Experience in a supervisory or leadership role 2-3 years preferred
