Fort Rucker, Alabama Summary: The objective of this position is to provide comprehensive safety oversight, coordination, and administrative support for live-fire and training operations conducted within the Fort Rucker Gunnery Range and Training Complex. The Firing Desk Safety personnel serve as the primary point of contact for range control communications, ensuring all range activities are conducted in compliance with U.S. Army and installation safety standards, range regulations, and local operating procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant training environments by monitoring range usage, enforcing safety protocols, logging operations, and assisting with incident prevention and response coordination. Job Duties:
Maintain real-time communication with range users, training units, and Range Control personnel via radio, phone, or digital systems.
Maintain accurate logs of range usage, firing times, munitions expended, and personnel present during operations.

Personnel must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, in support of training schedules. Duties may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or monitoring communications equipment.
