The Role in Brief:

Data Analyst, Advanced Analytics and Benchmarking, EAB Seramount

The Data Analyst will be a key member of the Advanced Analytics and Benchmarking team within EAB Seramount, reporting to the Senior Director. This role combines extraordinary data analysis, programming, and reporting skills with the opportunity to do high-impact work for Seramount's Assess360 consulting and Best Companies research initiatives. The ideal candidate will be professional, detail-oriented, and innovative, committed to the discovery, development, and implementation of innovative solutions that increase efficiencies in our processes and improve report deliverables.

This hire may be based in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA; this position is also open to remote employment within the continental United States.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assess360 responsibilities:



  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses (data analysis, lit reviews, interviews, etc.), interpret findings for team members, and decipher meaningful conclusions to larger research questions
  • Support the Assess360 team's data analytics and statistical needs, including the development of data visualization dashboards
  • Contribute to research studies that synthesize complex ideas into actionable advice for partners
  • Assist in producing and editing internal and external deliverables, including emails, blog posts, insight pieces, white papers, benchmarking reports, interview notes, lit reviews, webinars, and presentations.
  • Support with storyboarding partner-facing presentations to communicate research findings and use feedback from managers to improve final deliverables
  • Ability to flex time and work outside of regular business hours when needed to meet a report deadline specified in a consulting contract.


Best Companies responsibilities:



  • Program, test and maintain multiple large-scale surveys on an annual basis
  • Gather and analyze data, interpreting findings and generating insights
  • Develop custom benchmarking assessments and presentations to help clients understand results across hundreds of data points
  • Develop, program and document processes that automate data cleaning, manipulating, analysis and reporting procedures
  • Participate in ongoing client interactions and engagements to support overall client needs
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units to provide data and/or perform basic data analysis as needed



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree, with an excellent academic record and 1-2+ years of post-graduate, professional experience OR a Master's/PhD degree and 0+ years of post-graduate professional experience
  • Proven quantitative skills, with basic knowledge of statistics and data structures to clean, manipulate, analyze, and report data
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts specifically as they relate to social science research (sampling, effect size, margin of error, statistical significance, etc.)
  • Experience designing and implementing surveys
  • Experience creating dashboard reports using data visualization platforms
  • Proficiency using analytical tools or programs, with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new analytical tools or programs
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of qualitative data/text analysis (interviewing/focus group/open response data, tagging, thematic analysis, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Experience preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Ideal Qualifications:



  • A degree which emphasizes quantitative skills and research methods
  • Advanced knowledge designing and programming surveys, preferably using Qualtrics
  • Advanced skill in developing dynamic reports using data visualization software, preferably Qlik
  • Advanced skill with a programming language, preferably Python
  • Experience with MarketSight software
  • Experience with project management software, such as Asana

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary (base) range for this role is $56,000 - $76,500 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.

This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
