Job Description

Visa is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Manager, North America (NA) Communications to lead social and executive communications for our NA leadership team.

This newly created role will unify and elevate executive visibility across the region, supporting Visa executives in articulating vision, driving thought leadership and creative content, and engaging internal and external audiences. Responsibilities including leading an integrated executive comms strategy, driving earned and owned media, managing speaking opportunities, and leading creative and strategic social media engagement. This role will report to the Senior Director of (NA) Communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications: Create narratives and drive integrated communications programs that are inclusive of earned and owned media, social media, and speaking opportunities for senior executives. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, helping them communicate with clarity, confidence, and impact.
  • Executive Communications and Social Content: Build and manage a long-term executive visibility roadmap across key moments, platforms, and audiences. Create and amplify thought leadership campaigns that position Visa leaders as industry voices on payments, commerce, and innovation. Develop compelling speeches, blogs, articles, and creative social media content that reflect Visa's voice and industry thought leadership.
  • Event and Engagement Support: Provide communications support to key leadership members for speaking engagements, media engagements, social media, and internal communications.
  • Partner Across the Organization to Drive Results: Collaborate closely with multiple Comms teams to ensure narrative messaging is aligned and integrated across the business.
  • Innovate: Use GenAI and other tools to produce timely, authentic content tailored to executive tone and audience. Track engagement and effectiveness of executive communications efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as key partner and strategic advisor to North America executives formulating and executing thematic, consistent and impactful communications programs that drive tangible business results and expand Visa's thought leadership profile.
  • Be embedded in NA business in order to tailor appropriate internal and external communications narratives and programs.
  • Partner closely with NA/global/corporate colleagues driving external & internal communications to ensure message alignment and consistency - and to generate new content ideas.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications;

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably with both agency and large enterprise experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic executive communications programs that drive business results.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice across formats.
  • Deep understanding of social media strategy, content creation and digital platforms for executives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence at all levels.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 149,800.00 to 217,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
