Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driving Role in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This is an armed, driving post where you will interact with the public, respond to incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal at government locations.
  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and authorized personnel while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and control entry and exit of individuals to restricted areas.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as needed and follow protocols established by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or unusual occurrences according to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
