Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will:
Execute supply chain strategy. Identifies supplier quality, delivery, and service issues. Monitors supplier corrective action and coordinates supplier development. Identifies and eliminates waste from supply chain. May develop and manage sources of supply for medium-risk commodities. Assists with development of supply chain sourcing strategy and manages supplier alliances for commodities, including supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier performance and relationship management.
Essential Functions
- Analyze Supplier Performance: Utilize Haworth systems to analyze supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, initiate corrective actions, and track the effectiveness of those actions.
- Assist in Developing Selection Criteria: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop supplier selection criteria, negotiate favorable contract terms for major commodities, evaluate potential suppliers (including conducting site visits), and ensure overall supply chain performance.
- Assist in Developing Commodity Supply Strategies: Contribute to the development of comprehensive commodity supply strategies by analyzing market trends, benchmarking against industry best practices, and gathering feedback from relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in Sourcing and Procuring Materials: Provide support in sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services from global suppliers to meet Haworth's quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
- Exercise Effective Use of Company Funds: Make cost-effective purchasing decisions, ensuring the responsible use of company funds while adhering to established company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Facilitate Supplier Involvement: Engage suppliers in new product development processes, involve them in cost reduction initiatives, and actively participate in or lead continuous improvement and cross-functional projects.
- Maintain a Database and Generate Contracts: Maintain an up-to-date supplier database, generate purchase order contracts using Haworth systems, and utilize spreadsheet software to analyze and evaluate relevant data.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or similar field of study.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Supply Chain.
- Applicants must be able to work inHolland, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
- Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education

Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years experience directly in procurement and strategic sourcing preferred.
- Experience in the textile and laminate commodity space.
- Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) processes within supply chain operations or experience supporting product launch projects.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement tools.
- Advanced Excel and Data Analytics skills (PowerBi or similar).
- Experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and contract management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with product line management, engineering, quality, operations teams, and external customers.
- Experience in automotive or the furniture industry.
