Job Title: Software Engineer II

Location: 400 Spectrum Center Drive, Suite 550, Irvine, CA 92618

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance to The Trade Desk, Inc. office in Irvine, CA.

Job Duties: Implement full stack software solutions utilizing database: SQL Server, Postgres, Vertica; Backend: C#, Scala, REST APIs, GraphQL APIs; Frontend: Typescript, React, Tailwind; and Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker. Act as a company-wide subject matter expert on measurement solutions including, but not limited to, The Trade Desk Conversion Lift, Third Party Conversion Lift, Carrier Activation Indicator, New Devices Indicator, and Inferred Brand Intent. Proactively monitor deployed solutions for bugs, performance concerns, and feedback using tools like NewRelic, Sumologic, and Grafana to ensure maximum operational excellence and user satisfaction. Include automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests in the delivery of all solutions in order to prevent regressions and accelerate team's development velocity. Design complex database tables, GraphQL schemas, and client access patterns to satisfy product requirements and address scalability concerns. Identify and lead implementation of new measurement solutions that can be built on top of The Trade Desk's infrastructure and substantial data. Collaborate with product managers and designers using tools like Figma to influence project directions and general user experiences. Track project progress using tools like Jira to facilitate roadmap discussions with product managers. Act as the primary mentor for new team members and interns.

Salary: $166,500 - $249,700/year

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: any of the following Object-Oriented languages: C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, and Scala; software development code editors, including Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Rider, and version control systems, including Git; high QPS, distributed or multithreaded systems; and collaborating directly with Product Managers and Business team members to design and develop software solutions. Must have two (2) years of experience developing web services.

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$166,500 $249,700 USD
