Run what runs the world This Position reports to: Production Manager We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support a strategic improvement project focused on material management within our manufacturing operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic industrial environment. This role is part of a lean challenge competition in between manufacturing sites. The work model for the role is on site. This role is contributing to the Reliagear/Electrification/Smart Power in Montreal. You will be mainly accountable for: Assist in analyzing current material flow from reception to production, testing, and packaging. Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance material handling efficiency. Participate in lean-based initiatives aimed at reducing waste and improving inventory accuracy. Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions. Help document current and improved processes, including visual standards and operating instructions. Contribute to layout optimization efforts to improve material accessibility and workflow. Conduct basic root cause analysis and assist in implementing corrective actions. Monitor key metrics such as material availability, cycle time, and inventory turnover. Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards during project execution. Qualifications for the role Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Good communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is an ass Possibility to travel. Why ABB?
