This Position reports to: Chief Counsel - Process AutomationIn this role, you will develop, enhance, and implement a global trade compliance programme that is fit for purpose for the Process Automation ("PA") Business Area and its Divisions, in alignment with ABB Group core requirements. You will drive the development of trade-related capabilities across all of PA and manage complex cases that are escalated to the Business Area. The work model for this role is hybrid. This position offers opportunities to collaborate with global business and operations teams while developing and maintaining a best-in-class Trade Compliance programme. You will be mainly accountable for:
To be successful in this role, you bring a master's degree from a reputable university or school, preferably with a formal education in legal and/or compliance disciplines, or at least a strong affinity with the legal domain and proven experience in handling regulatory requirements and enforcement matters. You have a minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years of focused experience in Trade Compliance. You possess a solid understanding of customs, export controls, and sanctions, along with hands-on experience in working with US trade regulations. You are skilled in managing programmes and executing projects from design to completion, leveraging data and metrics to drive improvements. Experience with SAP ERP and GTS systems is considered an advantage. You have a proven track record of operating successfully in complex business environments, combining a hands-on approach with the ability to drive innovation, share best practices, and adapt to evolving business needs. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, including the ability to present complex matters clearly and concisely, inspire trust, and promote effective cross-functional collaboration.
