Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory) In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon. You will be mainly accountable for:
Provides analysis of HSE data within area of responsibility. Reports on progress on the implementation of environmental and sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (KPI) as required. Contributes to assessing emerging trends and legislation in HSE and communicates relevant information on legal requirements within area of expertise and geography. Supports constituent countries to operate in compliance with standards and respective legal obligations. Submit time critical reports to various government agencies. Lead Environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015 Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement. Foster an environmentally responsible culture within the organization. Contributes to and/or plans and executes Health, Safety and Environment performance and Corporate Responsibility related projects. Develops and reports on project objectives. Manages project resources such as manpower, financials and other relevant factors. Provides training to local teams enabling them to understand and identify risks and other relevant HSE information. May lead a small team.
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Chemical, Medical or similar. 1+ years of experience in similar positions as HSE Specialist. Knowledge of ISO 14001, 450001, STPS & PASST programs. Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor health, safety, and environmental performance. Review and refine metrics to align with evolving operational goals and regulatory requirements. Perform detailed risk assessments using methodologies. Develop and implement targeted action plans to eliminate or mitigate identified risks. Lead and support Management of Change (MoC) processes. Ensure that changes in equipment, processes, materials, or personnel are evaluated for HSE impacts. Coordinate and conduct investigations of incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors. Design and launch awareness campaigns, training programs, and engagement activities that promote a strong HSE culture. Tailor messaging to different organizational levels-from shop floor to leadership. May lead a small team, demonstrate strong leadership skills. Intermediate English level.
