The COACH - Community and Opportunities at Children's Hospital - internship program mission is to create a pathway for emerging healthcare professionals, offering hands-on experience, structured development, and dedicated mentorship.

Please note, to be eligible:
  • Must be 16 years old or older by the program start date (Monday, June 8, 2026)
  • Enrolled in a two- or four-year undergraduate program and in good academic standing
  • Available to work during the full duration of the program
  • Can work in-person for the duration of the program
    • Please note, we do not provide relocation or housing support

The opportunity
The College COACH summer internship is a 35 hour/week paid program running from Monday, June 8-Friday, August 14, 2026. Students will earn $17.50-$21.50/hour with unpaid lunch, depending on their experience.

What you'll do
College COACH interns will have varied opportunities to gain on-the-job experience and exposure throughout the hospital. The program includes:
  • Attending a 2-day program orientation and onboarding
  • Being assigned to in-person or hybrid work with a department within Boston Children's Hospital
  • Participating in virtual and in-person development program workshops
  • Being part of a smaller cohort with an assigned mentor and coach to enhance support and development
Specific work hours are determined by the interns' supervisor and COACH Program.

  • Students submitting their application of interest to this post will be contacted when job-specific internship opportunities are open for application. Please limit your applications to no more than three postings.
  • Resume review & interviews: Applications will be screened, and interviews will be scheduled as appropriate. Resumes are required; if you need assistance developing a resume, please contact coach@childrens.harvard.edu.
  • Offer decision: We will follow up within one week of your interview. Decisions regarding program acceptance will be made in March.
  • Onboarding: Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program. This includes:
    • Scheduling an appointment during one of our on-site onboarding days
    • Obtaining appropriate work permits, as needed
    • Health records
    • Proof of Employment Eligibility
    • Media release

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
