The Jackson Lab is searching for a qualified Lab Specialist (Intermediate level) to join the team. This role will support our research by performing experiments, analyses, and technical procedures in a laboratory setting. The Jackson lab studies viral mechanisms of pathogenesis in HIV and novel therapeutics for infectious diseases. Recent work has focused on the HIV-1 Rev-Rev Response Element regulatory mechanism and its impact on HIV transmission and persistence. Routine work in the lab includes human tissue culture, molecular biology, and lentiviral vectors. This role is expected to contribute to ongoing research projects by generating reliable data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree required, may accept combination of experience/education/certification in lieu of degree. Experience: 1+ year of relevant lab experience required. Preferred Qualifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
