As a Security Officer - Defense Armed Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a leading aerospace and defense location. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This armed position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where teamwork, reliability, and integrity are valued every day.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately during emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity to help to deter potential threats.
  • Carry and responsibly handle assigned firearms in accordance with company policy and applicable laws while on duty.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials to help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel when required.
  • Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift, adapting to changing conditions within an aerospace and defense environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet. This is preferred.
  • Possess a state, county, or city issued security license. This is preferred.
  • Have experience with access control or badge systems. This is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
