POSITION: Director of Automation

Position Summary:

We are committed to exceeding expectations and having a strong commitment to diversity.The Director of Automation will be part of the Transformation and Commercial Technology team. The Director of Automation will be developing, designing and implementing automation at CSB. You will have a strong background in AI, machine learning, and automation, with a deep understanding of how these technologies can be leveraged to improve performance across digital advertising, customer experience, and internal processes.

Key Result Areas:


  • Lead the identification, mapping, and analysis of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
  • Knowledge of AI-driven automation tools and techniques
  • Discern through an established intake process, what is the best automation solution for the business challenge looking at the broader ecosystems at the bank: UIPath, SF, API, AI
  • Quantify potential impact of automation across quality of outcomes, time-to-market, productivity, capacity creation, and others and effectively track this impact across the organization
  • Create and support automation design and development best practices. Foster and manage a pipeline of automations to be developed by RPA Development team.
  • Ensure measurements of the defined KPI's and SLA's in the program are in place and are acted upon when outside of normal expectations.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills. Collaborate with internal technical and business resources to share best practices and continually improve automations.
  • Knowledge of cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment and quantification methodologies, to ensure right automation solution planning.
  • Governs automation requirements and drives the end-to-end solution to meet those requirements based on multi-platform technology.
  • Analyze and design the technical architecture of processes before automation, ensuring best direct pathing.
  • Responsible for working with complex information systems and developing or modifying existing systems through analysis of business and user needs.
  • Build partnerships and serve as the liaison with internal departments on programs to determine business needs and recommend/deliver solutions that provide business value to the organization.
  • Analyze effectiveness of existing technical and business solutions; develop and implement automations to improve those solutions.
  • Document automation designs, including technical specifications and current/future state diagrams.
  • Regularly review and optimize code to improve performance and maintainability of production automations.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the day-to-day running of RPA processes
  • Conducting training sessions for end users and other developers
  • Stay current with new Automation technologies (like Agentic AI) and tools to improve automation solution
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant fields.
  • 10+ years' proven experience in working with IT systems or architecture - developing, designing, and preparing automation execution plans.
  • Must have experience in AI, machine learning, and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy AI-powered solutions and automation strategies that deliver results
  • Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of AI and automation projects
  • Experience leading functional testing teams, preferably in banking, financial institutions and/or at professional services firms that focus on the financial services industry.
  • Experience within Financial Services, specifically Commercial, Consumer, and/or Digital Banking areas preferred.
  • Experience working on cross-functional, enterprise-wide delivery programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC principles, programming languages, and APIs.
  • Advanced knowledge of business tools and applications to include MS Office Suite, Visio, Azure DevOps, Salesforce, Copado, Jira
  • UiPath Certification (Solution Architect) is preferred, though not required.

Location: Hybrid/Waltham, MA Salary Range: $166,900 - $217,000

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Cambridge Savings Bank ranges from $166,900 - $217,000. Cambridge Saving Bank will determine actual compensation for the role based on factors including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
