Contingent 36 hours in 6 weeks, 12 of which must have availability on the weekend GENERAL SUMMARY:* Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Unit Description: Special Care Nursery is a level 2 nursery. We have 7 semi-private beds with a 3-bed transition room. We care for babies 32 weeks' gestation and up. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. 2 years of NICU/Special Care Nursery experience required.
