Principal Engineer Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI technology and leading the charge in building intelligent solutions that transform how Tax and Trade products work? Join the Thomson Reuters Corporate Tax and Trade team and drive the technical execution of groundbreaking AI projects that make a real difference. As Principal Engineer for Corporate Tax and Trade, you'll define and execute the technical vision for our generative AI products, ensuring we deliver powerful, user-friendly, and innovative solutions that transform Tax and Trade products. About the Role In this opportunity, as Principal Engineer, you will: * Provide technical leadership and define software development strategies for critical AI projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives. * Lead the design and development of innovative features advancing AI-native product experiences. * Drive the seamless integration of LLMs and generative AI technologies into Corporate Tax and Trade products. * Streamline the use of Micro Front Ends to ensure low latency, scalability, and excellent user experience. * Mentor a globally distributed team of engineering managers, architects, and developers to strengthen engineering culture. * Lead complex technical initiatives, exercising autonomy in decision-making and managing technical risk. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions. About You You're a fit for the role of Principal Engineer if your background includes: * 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a proven record of developing scalable, web-based solutions with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. * Expertise with modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, or similar), TypeScript, Node.js, and Python. * Experience with AI technologies, including GenAI concepts such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-tuning. * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across organisational boundaries and to navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated ability to mentor others and promote best practices in release management, AI dev tools, and test-driven development. * Experience integrating AI/ML technologies into customer-facing applications #LI-ES1 What's in it For You?
