Job Description




As a Security Officer - Healthcare Facility Patrol Shift in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with emergency response activities when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any unusual circumstances, hazards, or security-related breaches to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and promote a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and verify identification as required by site policies.
  • Document daily activities, observations, and incidents using Allied Universal reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and local authorities as necessary to support a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required as proof for this client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
