Job Summary:

The Business Optimization Analyst - Revenue Operations plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency, accuracy, and innovation across billing and revenue processes. This role blends data analysis, cross-functional problem-solving, and operational insight to identify opportunities for automation, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall customer and employee experience. Working cross-functionally with IT, Billing, Finance, Sales, Tax, Pricing and Customer Experience teams, this individual ensures our operational infrastructure evolves alongside the business smarter, faster, and more resilient.

The Business Optimization Analyst is the catalyst for smarter, faster, and more connected billing operations. By combining analytical insight, process expertise, and a passion for innovation, this role ensures our revenue systems continuously evolve to meet business and customer needs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and optimize end-to-end billing workflows within SAP, ERM and supporting platforms to improve timeliness, accuracy, and automation
  • Identify and implement process enhancements that reduce manual touchpoints, strengthen SOX compliance, and drive measurable efficiency gains
  • Drive cross-functional efforts to integrate a new pricing engine into the billing platform, partnering with business stakeholders, developers, QA, and operations to define requirements, create UAT scenarios, and ensure a seamless implementation
  • Lead the development and testing of billing configurations for new offerings, ensuring timely, complete and accurate customer billings
  • Support Sales and profitable growth of the business through recommending and solutioning nonstandard and complex structures for strategic commercial & industrial customers
  • Lead the development and execution of the AI enablement strategy, ensuring new technologies are effectively integrated to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to capture feedback, communicate progress, and maintain alignment on strategic priorities and deliverables
  • Collaborate with technology teams to translate business needs into system requirements, user stories, and test cases to ensure system enhancements deliver tangible business value
  • Support cross-functional operational enhancement initiatives such as proactive hub development, tax tool integration, and data validation automation
  • Monitor and interpret performance metrics (e.g. billing accuracy, exception volume, days-to-bill, SLA compliance) to guide prioritization and decision-making
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to diagnose root cause of operational challenges and design sustainable, scalable solutions
  • Drive change management and adoption, ensuring new tools and processes are effectively implemented and understood across teams
  • Mentor Analysts to facilitate growth in market knowledge; provide advice and training on product structures and market trends
  • Perform the analytics related to regulatory changes and play a key role in operationalizing the appropriate solutions
  • Lead the resolution of significant, widespread customer-impact issues, collaborating across functions to drive root-cause fixes and prevent recurrence.
  • Serve as an operational subject matter expert, bridging business context with system design to ensure continuous alignment between process, technology, and outcomes
Working Conditions:
  • Flexible work environment: open office or fully remote

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in revenue operations, billing business system analysis, or process improvement roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
  • Experience with SAP, ERM or comparable billing platform; familiarity with Salesforce, Avalara, or similar tools is a plus
  • Demonstrated success in process automation, workflow redesign, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability the collaborate across functions and levels of the organization
  • A proactive mindset focused on driving measurable improvements, not just maintaining status quo

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Self-motivated and very detail-oriented; ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead small-medium projects
  • An effective communicator with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Highly driven and independent with the ability to make effective decisions that directly impact operations and financial risk

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary with frequent opportunity to move about
