The Role
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Deal Desk Finance Manager manages the deal review process for our Commercial Review Team (CRT) helping drive disciplined, data-informed deal governance for complex, high-impact deals, ensuring alignment with Presidio's commercial guardrails, profitability goals, and risk framework. This role partners across Sales, Revenue Operations, FP&A, Controllership, and Shared Services to optimize deal structures, accelerate approvals, and balance deal velocity. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills. He or she will need to understand how to work within (and augment) operational and system processes to provide insight.
Travel Requirements:
In this role you will be expected to travel up to 5%. It will be primarily remote, with preferred locations close to a Presidio office.
Responsibilities include:
Deal Submission & Review Coordination
- Monitor the sales pipeline and strategic deal reviews to identify high-impact opportunities for deal reviews.
- Perform first-line reviews of deal submissions to make sure they are complete, accurate, and highlight any non-standard terms (e.g. low margin, unusual payment terms, tax issues, or unusual contractual obligations).
- Coordinate the deal review process from start to finish, partnering with Sales, Finance, and other approvers to ensure timely decisions and adherence to SLAs.
- Organize and run live review meetings, making sure the right information and stakeholders are present so decisions can be made quickly and consistently.
Deal Analysis & Commercial Validation
- Review deal structures to assess profitability, risk, working capital impact, and alignment with standard terms and commercial guidelines.
- Summarize key deal points, risks, and recommendations for approvers and in live review sessions.
- Collaborate with Sales and Finance to model pricing / profitability scenarios and working capital exposure at the deal and account level, turning detailed data into clear insights and visuals for leadership.
- Use customer context (account strategy, competition, buying behavior) to inform pricing, structure, and risk assessment.
- Support customer lifetime value (LTV) analysis to guide pricing, margins, and long-term account strategy.
- Track and manage supplier rebate programs to ensure correct application, accurate forecasting and accruals, and visibility into deal and account profitability.
- Maintain documentation of deal decisions, rationale, and quote-to-order compliance for auditability and to identify recurring issues or improvement opportunities.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain dashboards and reporting packages (e.g., deal pipeline, approval SLAs, recurring exceptions, margin trends, and risk metrics) to highlight key insights and performance drivers.
- Share insights with business partners on deal velocity, exceptions patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Recommend improvements to end-to-end deal submission, review, and approval process to increase speed, consistency, and compliance.
- Help design and support automation and data integration in Salesforce (or similar tools) to streamline routing, approvals, and reporting.
- Contribute to training, documentation, and testing for Sales and other users to drive adoption of the deal review process and reinforce commercial guardrails.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
- A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or other related quantitative discipline is required.
- 5-7+ years of experience in Deal Desk, FP&A, Revenue Operations, or Commercial Finance, ideally with a focus on deal pricing/structure, data analytics, financial planning, or business intelligence.
- Experience in the technology or professional service sector; public company background preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Salesforce, and visualization tools (e.g., Einstein, Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent communication skills: experience managing stakeholders, partnering alongside and presenting to senior business leaders, and capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, with a focus on process consistency, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.
