DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for operating various vehicles and equipment essential for general construction, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks, which include snow removal and salting or cindering operations. Your duties will involve handling tractor-mounted grass and brush mowers, dump trucks, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and front-end loaders with a bucket capacity of less than three cubic yards, along with any necessary attachments for these machines. You will also conduct safety checks, perform preventative maintenance, and inspect equipment before use, while keeping detailed records of all operations.

Additionally, you will operate the required machinery for demolition and resource management projects, and when not engaged in operating vehicles, you will perform manual labor such as loading and unloading trucks. Your responsibilities will extend to executing minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, as well as assisting other maintenance personnel with more significant repairs.

Furthermore, you will carry out general maintenance tasks across all park facilities and structures, which may include building gates and fences, painting, replacing picnic grills and tables, and installing or replacing park signage. You will also contribute to litter collection, restroom cleaning, cabin maintenance, and garbage disposal. Your role will encompass grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, repairing berms, clearing brush, and snow removal. You will be involved in digging trenches and assisting with the installation or repair of waterlines, sewer lines, electric lines, and drain pipes, as well as excavating foundations or footers for small construction projects. This position requires you to travel independently to fulfill your duties, necessitating the operation of a park vehicle on state or local roadways. Additionally, you will operate Regional Swing vehicles, including a Mack Truck and trailer combination, which exceeds a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 pounds, requiring a Commercial Class A driver's license for legal operation.
