Mechanical Estimator (Pipe)

You will analyze drawings and specifications, perform detailed material, labor, and equipment takeoffs, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and assemble clear, competitive bid tabs that stand up to scrutiny. Position Summary

Provide complete andaccuratemechanical and plumbing estimates. Assemble bid tab with estimates and vendor/sub quotes. Coordinate and clarify scope internally and externally.Identifythe value of engineering opportunities.Identifyand fill in minor design and scope gaps. Assist Preconstruction team during project turnover to Operations.

Role Responsibilities

• Review project documents

• Identifyscope of work

• Material,laborand equipment takeoffs

• Walk difficult projects

• Identifyand document difficult/non-standard conditions

• Coordinate with Preconstruction team toidentifyand fill scope gaps

• Clarify scope with General Contractor and Engineer

• Obtain quotes and coordinate/qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors

• Assemble the bid tabin a timely manner

• Verify estimate accuracy by comparing data versus similar bids

• Participate in turnover process to Operations

• Follow Up on Past Awards

• Indirect supervision.

• Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.

• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation,selectionand substantial adaptation/modification of standards.

• Devisesnew solutionsto problemsencountered.

• Independently performsmost assignments with instruction

• Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.

• College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experiencegenerally expectedfor specified technical roles.
