This Position reports to:

US Country Talent Lead EL, Corp Functions

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

The Military Program Talent Specialist will lead ABB's military talent initiatives, including sourcing, engagement, and program development. This role is pivotal in building pipelines of transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses, while managing ABB's participation in the DoD SkillBridge Program and other strategic partnerships. The specialist will ensure compliance with federal regulations (VEVRAA, USERRA) and align military hiring strategies with ABB's workforce and business goals.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid (#LI-Hyrbid) in Cary, NC.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies targeting military talent using platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Phenom CRM, and veteran-specific job boards.

  • Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and collaborate with hiring managers to translate military experience into civilian job requirements.

  • Maintain candidate databases and track recruitment metrics for military hires.

  • Serve as ABB's primary liaison for the DoD SkillBridge Program, guiding business units through application and approval processes.

  • Design structured internship-style training programs for transitioning service members, ensuring successful onboarding and conversion to full-time roles.

  • Coordinate ABB's participation in military-focused hiring events (virtual and onsite) and networking engagements with bases, TAP offices, and veteran organizations.

  • Build ABB's military-friendly employer brand through targeted campaigns and ABB Military & Allies Affinity Network.

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with organizations such as Hiring Our Heroes, Veteran Bridge Home, and local military bases.

  • Promote ABB as an employer of choice for military talent through events, sponsorships, and community outreach. Develop military-friendly onboarding experiences and mentoring programs to support cultural integration and retention.

  • Track retention and advancement metrics for veteran hires and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field preferred.

  • Military background required (active duty, veteran, or military spouse).

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, recruiting, or talent program management.

  • Knowledge of military occupational specialties (MOS, AFSC, Ratings) and ability to translate skills into civilian roles.

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements under VEVRAA and USERRA.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
