Maintain maximum machine production capability, and plant cleanliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations. * Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk. * Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws * Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks. * Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-Shift, Department, Change Management, General Communication, Town Hall, etc.) * Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. * Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible. * Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals. * Motivates and coach's employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES and AUTHORITY: * Supervise and direct the Machine Maintenance Technicians. * Communicate activities with Manager and other members of the department. * Keep PM Maintenance Program up-to-date. * Requisition or procure parts required for repairs or projects * Inspect and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical and mechanical systems on molding machines. * Seek training to stay current with job requirements. * Assume control of machine when a situation arises which has potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of machine. * Perform any other duties as established by Molding Machine Maintenance Supervisor. * Responsible for ensuring the compliance with safety guidelines. * * Responsibilities and authority include assuring compliance with federal, state, government and/or any appropriate regulatory laws or guidelines. * Lead department in the MM manager's absence. * Ability to work with vendors. * Must be a journeyman or have 3 years' experience and working to become a journeyman. * Able to troubleshoot over the phone with OEM support personnel. QUALIFICATIONS:* * High School diploma or equivalent. * Ability to supervise people. * Self-starter with eagerness to learn and take initiative. * Ability to read rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments. * Ability to read, understand and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints.
