SAP S/4 HANA Solution Architect

Genesis10 is seeking a SAP S/4 HANA Solution Architect - Hybrid position located in Denver, CO. This is a 12-month contract opportunity.

Compensation: $115.00 - $125.00 per hour (w2), depending on skill and experience level.

Work Model: Hybrid - in office Tuesday through Thursday. Some travel is required.

Role Overview

Our client is undertaking a major CIS modernization initiative, transitioning from a 25-year-old legacy billing system to SAP S/4 HANA for Utilities (IS-U). This is a multi-year, high-visibility program. The SAP S/4 HANA Solution Architect will design and govern end-to-end solutions across SAP landscapes, ensuring alignment with SAP business processes and Clean Core principles. The role requires deep expertise in SAP S/4 technologies, integration via SAP BTP, and strong architectural governance capabilities.

Project Context

* CIS Modernization Program - multi-year, multi-million-dollar initiative
* Transition from legacy billing system to SAP S/4 HANA Utilities
* Focus on back-end billing, metering, and integration (not customer-facing)
* Expected duration: 5 years; initial engagement as contractor with potential for conversion
* Work closely with Customer Architecture team and CIS project team
* Blueprinting, solution design, governance, and implementation validation

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain end-to-end solution architecture for SAP S/4 and supporting systems
* Define SAP data access and integration capabilities
* Govern SAP standards and best practices
* Lead design and implementation using SAP BTP and related services
* Collaborate with functional and technical teams
* Ensure scalability, security, and performance
* Conduct architecture reviews and governance processes
* Validate implementation against design
* Minimize customizations and enforce Clean Core principles

Required Qualifications

* 10+ years SAP experience
* 5+ years SAP S/4 HANA Utilities (IS-U)
* 5+ years SAP BTP and Integration Suite
* 3+ years AWS experience
* Expertise in SAP integration protocols and hybrid scenarios
* Strong architectural governance and solutioning skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent experience
* SAP Certified Solution Architect or Technology Professional
* Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, TOGAF, LeanIX
* Utility industry experience a plus

Technical Skills

* SAP S/4 Utilities process streams (FICA, Billing, Meter Management)
* SAP BTP services: Integration Suite, Event Mesh, DataSphere
* AWS integration and data movement
* Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance design

Non-Technical Skills

* Strong communication and stakeholder management
* Ability to articulate business value and technical detail
* Independent, accountable, and collaborative
* Comfortable working across teams and vendors
