Requisition ID# 169784 Job Category: Engineering / Science Job Level: Individual Contributor Business Unit: Gas Engineering Work Type: Hybrid Job Location: Oakland; Sacramento; San Ramon Department Overview The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Strategies team within Gas Engineering plays a critical role in advancing PG&E's True North Strategy and help PG&E meet its goal to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2040 and become "climate positive" by 2050. The team leads efforts to reduce methane emissions, develop pathways to decarbonize the gas supply, and influence state policy by leveraging PG&E's technical expertise as a pipeline operator. Its main goal is to accelerate the transition to low-carbon fuels-ensuring cleaner energy sources reliably reach customers through our system. Position Summary The Gas Engineer, Expert is responsible for all aspects of the Natural Gas Leak Abatement program. The successful candidate excels at developing and implementing effective strategies to lower GHG emissions, analyzes technical data, manages tactical plans, and collaborates with various internal stakeholders and departments to achieve program objectives with minor supervision. Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory between San Ramon, Oakland, or Sacramento headquarters. Please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need. Position will require approximately 20% of travel time in work schedule. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. A reasonable salary range is: Bay Area Minimum:$136,000 Bay Area Maximum: $232,000 This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
