Introduction to the Job

As a Production Engineering Tooling Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of advanced manufacturing at ASML. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and scalability of our production processes, enabling us to deliver cutting-edge technology that powers the world's most advanced semiconductor equipment. By driving innovation in tooling design, you help ASML achieve its mission to push the boundaries of what's possible in microchip manufacturing.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide technical leadership in tooling design and ensure seamless integration of advanced solutions into production environments. You will collaborate across teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient tooling systems. You will be responsible for some of the key areas below.

Tooling Design and Roadmap Execution

  • Drive long-term tooling design roadmaps aligned with ASML's strategy and industry trends.

  • Lead the development of innovative tooling solutions and ensure robust integration with factory operations.

  • Define Tooling functional requirements and specifications in collaboration with engineering and production teams.

  • Design and develop complex tooling, fixtures, and jigs that meet safety and ergonomic standards.

  • Drive Business case, Design Proposal Analysis, Risk Assessment and EHS Compliance

  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA.

  • Facilitate design reviews and perform tolerance, structural, and thermal analysis to ensure quality.

  • Release designs with proper documentation to support procurement and lifecycle management.

Production Support, Troubleshooting and leadership

  • Drive tooling design problem solving tasks for escalations and implement corrective actions for issues

  • Identify and drive tooling design process improvements to increase key KPI metrics

  • Define and drive roadmap initiatives for design

  • Supporting leaders in executive level reviews and technical insights

  • Leading and mentoring junior engineers through issues and major escalations

Advanced Process Optimization and Standardization

  • Architect and Support PE team in implementation of tooling design improvements to help elevate production efficiency and quality

  • Work with Design and Engineering team to develop new tooling to ensure process stability

  • Provide expert technical guidance during tooling integration testing and industrialization phases to resolve design and manufacturing issues

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in tooling design and manufacturing engineering or 6+ years with a masters degree

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter.

  • Experience with design analysis methods and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
